Joel Klatt's releases controversial top 10 college football rankings

Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt changed his top 15 into a top 10 after Championship Week. It included a few teams that weren't in the College Football Playoff, something that stands out among most college football rankings this week.

One of the controversial turns was putting the Georgia Bulldogs at the No. 4 spot. After winning the SEC championship in dominant fashion against the No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide, Klatt still believes the Georgia Bulldogs are below three teams in the Big Ten: the Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Indiana Hoosiers. Still, Klatt believes in all four of them, saying, "It won't shock me if any of these four teams actually win the national championship. They (Georgia) were dominant over Alabama in the SEC Championship. That Bulldogs team is for real."

He also included the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at No. 6 while excluding the Ole Miss Rebels entirely from the rankings. He had a decent reason for why. "That's the interesting part about this playoff. Did the committee get it right? Probably because of the head-to-head loss to Miami, but if you're just saying ‘who wins this weekend,’ they're (Notre Dame) probably better than half the field." He has the Miami Hurricanes at the No. 8 spot in his rankings.

He also included the Texas Longhorns as No. 10 in his rankings. They suffered losses to No. 1 Ohio State, No. 3 Georgia, and the Florida Gators, but they had a quality win against the Texas A&M Aggies, who were at the No. 7 spot. Still, it's a curious choice to include them over the Oklahoma Sooners, who just missed the cut even though they are a playoff team.
