A wild Week 6 college football Saturday got even wilder after a stunning conclusion in Dallas.

The Oklahoma Sooners upset the No. 1 Texas Longhorns after a late interception from Arch Manning allowed OU to get in range for a game-winning field-goal try as time expired. Tate Sandell drilled the 47-yard field goal, leading the Sooners to their first Red River Rivalry win since 2023.

After the game, quarterback John Mateer, who completed a sideline pass to Isaiah Sategna III to set up the field goal, channeled his inner Baker Mayfield by planting an Oklahoma flag on the field at Cotton Bowl Stadium.

The savage flag-plant harkens back to a similar moment from Mayfield in 2017. After the Sooners upset the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, Mayfield (controversially) planted an Oklahoma flag on the logo at midfield of The Horseshoe.

Now, it's Mateer planting that flag in a statement win that should help improve the vibes in Norman after a 2-2 start to the season.
