A change was made quietly on "College GameDay."
The ESPN pregame show made its second stop of the first round of the College Football Playoff, emulating the Saturday, Dec. 20 edition at Kyle Field for No. 7 seed Texas A&M vs. No. 10 seed Miami. By being at the Aggies' home stadium, the show was slated to have Texas A&M icon and 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel be the guest picker.
However, Manziel ended up not being on the show.
About an hour before the game pick segment, ESPN quietly subbed in former men's basketball player and current Oklahoma City Thunder guard Alex Caruso to take over the guest pick duties. While Caruso is a solid pick for the first playoff game in College Station, it may have confused viewers to see him after Manziel was previously announced as the guest picker.
Why wasn't Johnny Manziel at "College GameDay"?
ESPN nor Manziel did not announce why he was no longer the guest picker for "College GameDay." Manziel was spotted at the Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul fight in Miami on Friday, Dec. 19.
It certainly left some viewers of the show confused without a formal announcement.
