SOUTH BEND — Jordan Faison’s metamorphosis from Notre Dame lacrosse prodigy to NFL Draft prospect is complete.

The rising senior wide receiver for Notre Dame football will skip lacrosse this spring in order to focus fully on football, a source confirmed Friday, Jan. 2.

Faison, who helped coach Kevin Corrigan’s program win its second straight lacrosse national title in 2024, is passing up the opportunity to team with younger brother Dylan, an incoming freshman considered the nation’s top lacrosse recruit.

Dylan Faison, a standout wide receiver as well, is slated to play football with the Irish next fall. The younger Faison starred at Saint Andrews School in Boca Raton, Fla., while Jordan Faison played at Pine Crest in Fort Lauderdale.

At 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, Jordan Faison led the 2025 Irish with 49 receptions for 640 yards. Four of those catches went for touchdowns as he successfully made the move from slot receiver to wideout.

As a freshman midfielder in 2024, Faison started all 17 games for the Irish lacrosse team, contributing 30 points. Last spring, while splitting time between lacrosse and football, Faison played in 12 games and had 14 points, including nine goals.

A former walk-on signed primarily for his lacrosse skills, Faison made his first splash in a loss at Louisville seven games into the 2023 football season. He finished that year with 19 catches for 322 yards and four touchdowns, claiming game MVP honors at the Sun Bowl.

Faison added 30 catches as a sophomore, totaling 356 yards and another touchdown, but he was slowed for much of the year by a high ankle sprain suffered in the season opener at Texas A&M.

Notre Dame must replace four of its top five pass-catching options as Malachi Fields, Will Pauling, Eli Raridon and Jeremiyah Love head to the pros. Third-year man Micah Gilbert (nine catches, 93 yards) and speedster KK Smith (eight catches, 123 yards, two scores) are the most productive returnees at wide receiver other than Faison.

Fourth-year wideout Jaden Greathouse is expected to be healthy again after a high ankle sprain caused him to miss the final eight games in 2025.
