Kalen DeBoer said two Alabama football players will be back and available for the Crimson Tide’s College Football Playoff matchup with Oklahoma on Friday, Dec. 19.

Josh Cuevas and Danny Lewis Jr. will be available to play against the Sooners, DeBoer confirmed Wednesday, Dec. 17. Both were listed as questionable on Alabama’s first CFP availability report.

“Both of them will be available,” DeBoer said. “Progress continues to happen.”

Cuevas has not played since the Crimson Tide’s 23-21 loss to Oklahoma on Nov. 15.

“Experience, athleticism,” DeBoer said of Cuevas. “Just consistent in everything. Knows his assignment. He’s been in the system now three years, and so he can kind of do it all. He’s comfortable in the box, on the line, flexed out. All the little things that we really utilize our tight ends for, he’s just extremely comfortable doing it.”

Lewis played three snaps in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia, but has played six total snaps since Oct. 11 against Missouri, per Pro Football Focus.

“Danny’s is going to continue to be ongoing like it has,” DeBoer said, saying Lewis will only be used in certain packages as “not necessarily an every play guy.”

Alabama kicks off against Oklahoma at 7 p.m. CT Friday on ABC.
