Tennessee (19-10, 3-6 SEC) defeated Austin-Peay (14-15, 5-4 ASUN), 13-4, on Tuesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Garrett Wright, Henry Ford and Tyler Myatt hit home runs for the Vols.

Tuesday’s game was the first for Tennessee with head coach Josh Elander in the Vols’ dugout. He also served as Tennessee’s third base coach for the first 28 games this season.

Elander discussed coaching at third base after the game.

“We had a lot of conversations after the weekend,” Elander said. “It was a tough one, right? We just said, you know, hey, how can we communicate a little bit better as a staff?

“I’ve always wanted to keep everything this year as similar as it was, just with the uniqueness of the the change with V (Tony Vitello), for the players between the lines of how it ran.”

Tennessee will host LSU for three-game series beginning Friday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
