Josh Heupel loses third Tennessee football player to transfer portal

Defensive end Kellen Lindstrom became the third Tennessee football to announce his plans to enter the transfer portal.

The former four-star recruit shared his decision on X on Dec. 2. The portal opens on Jan. 2.

Lindstrom follows defensive lineman Jamal Wallace and defensive back Boo Carter into the portal.

Lindstrom, a 6-foot-5, 240-pounder, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. In 2024, he played three games, made four tackles and took a redshirt. In 2025, he played three games and made two tackles.

Tennessee (8-4, 4-4 SEC) awaits its bowl bid, which will be announced on Dec. 7.
