Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class. Vols’ head coach Josh Heupel visited four-star safety Jarrell Chandler on Wednesday.
“Thanks for stopping by,” Chandler announced.
The 6-foot-2, 197-pound prospect is an in-state target from Halls High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 31 safety in the class and No. 12 player in Tennessee.
Tennessee offered Chandler a scholarship when he visited for a spring practice on April 2, 2025. He has unofficially visited Tennessee two other times, most recently for the Vols’ football game versus Arkansas on Oct. 11, 2025.
Louisville was the first school to offer Chandler a scholarship on Sept. 7, 2024. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Western Kentucky, Kentucky, SMU, Arkansas, Tulane, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Liberty, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, Missouri, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Colorado, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan and Clemson.
Tennessee has four commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife.
