No. 13 Tennessee (3-0) will host No. 1 Texas (3-0) on Saturday in Week 4 of the 2026 college football season.
Kickoff between the Vols and Longhorns is slated for noon EDT at Neyland Stadium. ABC will televise the contest, which is the SEC opener for both teams.
Sixth-year Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel defeated Texas as a starting quarterback, 63-14, on Oct. 7, 2000 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. 75,587 were in attendance.
The Sooners led, 42-7, at halftime.
Heupel completed 17-of-27 passing attempts for 275 yards and one touchdown. He also totaled 34 rushing yards on seven attempts.
Texas running back Quentin Griffin recorded 87 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 23 attempts. He also had three receptions for 45 yards.
Trent Smith led Oklahoma in receiving yards (57). He totaled two receptions. Andre Woolfolk also recorded one touchdown reception.
Oklahoma finished its 2000 season with a 13-0 record (8-0 Big 12). The Sooners won the Big 12 championship and a BCS national title.
