We have reached the final day of June and it’s been a kind month to Steve Sarkisian and company. Texas has added 11 commitments from the 2027 recruiting class in the last month, including three of the top five ranked prospects in the class.
Currently, the class is No. 5 in the country, according to 247Sports, with the chance to continue climbing in July. Considering recruiting is a fast-paced, confusing world, I figured I’d give a one-stop shop for every commit that joined the Texas class in the last month.
Here’s the 11 future Longhorns from highest rated commit to lowest:
John Meredith III – CB – Committed on June 19th
This is the headliner of the month and the highest rated recruit in the Texas class. Meredith was a Texas-Texas A&M battle that the Longhorns were able to make up major ground to gain a commitment. He represents the highest defensive commit for Texas during the Sarkisian era.

Kasi Currie – DT – Committed on June 11th
The third-highest prospect in this class is Kasi Currie, an explosive DT out of California. Texas beat out Oregon for his services and he figures to be an immediate difference maker on the interior. At 6-5, 320lbs, he could be a true anchor for the Texas DL for years to come.

Jabarrius Garror – EDGE – Committed on June 12th
Moving to Alabama, Texas picked up a commitment from former Alabama commit Jabarrius Garror. Garror is an athletic freak at 6-3, 215lbs with truly eye-popping high school stats. In his junior season, he topped 100 tackles, 20 sacks, earning a MaxPreps Junior All-American distinction.

Brian Swanson – OT – Committed on June 17th
This was arguably the most important commitment of the month. The Texas OL is in a state of flux and that’s expected to continue heading into the 2027 season. Swanson can be a three-year starter for Texas, possibly even starting as a freshman at one of the OT spots.

Montre Jackson – CB – Committed on June 27th
The final of three secondary commitments Texas picked up this month. Jackson comes in as the No. 27 CB in the country out of Garland, Texas. He brings true track speed(10.9 100-meter, 21.84 200-meter) and elite ball skills to the table, notching 9 PBUs in his junior season.

Junior Tu’upo – S – Committed on June 26th
To round out the trio of secondary additions, Tu’upo was another major addition from the state of Alabama. Measuring in at 6-2, 190lbs, he brings the length and ball skills needed in a Will Muschamp defense. During his junior season, he notched 66 tackles, 5 TFLs, 7 PBUs and 3 INTs.

Briceson Thrower – WR – Committed on June 6th
Thrower got the party started for Texas, adding another WR to pair with Easton Royal in this class. Thrower is 6-3, 185lbs and projects as a true X-WR for Texas moving forward. His road to the field is slightly longer, considering the talent at WR moving forward, but the special 50/50 ball ability jumps off the screen.

Tyler Alexander – DL – Committed on June 23rd
The final four-star addition of the month, Alexander is yet another out-of-state prospect, this time from Florida. He, like Kasi Currie, will not need time to add weight, as he’s 6-4, 315lbs already. His athleticism and burst gives him a true NFL-ceiling.

Jason Johnson – DL – Committed on June 29th
The final DL addition of the month came yesterday from Humble, Texas. Jason Johnson is listed as a three-star but the potential is off the charts. He weighs in at just 280lbs right now, so will likely be looking to add weight his first season in Austin. He has NFL-potential and can develop into a top-end interior pass rusher.

Lucas Rhoa – OT – Committed on June 25th
An under-the-radar addition to the OL happened late last, with Texas nabbing the commitment of Lucas Rhoa. The 6-5, 305lbs product out of Orange, California is a true development project but has true upside. He’s a strong run blocker and can have positional versatility at the next level.

Kyron Brown – WR – Committed on June 23rd
The lowest ranked commitment of the month is easily one of the most intriguing players. Brown has elite speed, competing in 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles throughout high school. He could be a factor on special teams early in his career and then develop into a YAC specialist for Texas.

Names To Watch Moving Forward
OL Ismael Camara: The five-star OL is the major name to watch over the next few weeks. Texas has vaulted to the top of this recruitment and it seems a decision could be coming soon. If Texas earns this commitment, it’ll be the highest OL commit since Kelvin Banks Jr. and DJ Campbell.
RB Landen Callis-Williams: Another five-star Texas seems to be surging for is the playmaker out of Richmond, Texas. The speedster has put up other-wordly stats during his high school career. A commitment date isn’t set and it seems this will be slightly more drawn out, but things can change fast. If he does commit, he can find the field early in the 2027 season.
CB Brandon Sherrard: This could be where the run continues. Sherrard is set to commit tomorrow, deciding between LSU, Oklahoma and Texas. The four-star out of Pearland, Texas seems to be trending towards the Longhorns. He would be a great addition to the class, especially to possibly replace Karnell James.
WR Monshun Sales: This is the longshot of the bunch. The five-star WR out of Indianapolis is the No. 2 WR in the country, just behind current Texas commit Royal. Indiana and Alabama are the major competitions for Texas, and seem to have a slight lead as of today. There is no commitment set but Texas seems to have an outside chance to land the top 2 WRs in this class.
This Longhorns class is special right now. There are rumblings around Karnell James and Easton Royal possibly flipping to LSU, so it might not all be good news. It seems James is nearly a done deal to the Tigers while Royal is more of a toss-up.
That being said, this is shaping up to be a special class for the Longhorns with the chance of checking every box needed for Sarkisian and company. The month of June was incredibly kind to the Longhorns and I expect that to continue into July. One way or another, the 2027 recruiting class for Texas could be one the most impactful of Sarkisian’s tenure.
