Kaden Henderson Shuts Down Notre Dame Push, Stays Locked In With Texas A&M

Texas A&M’s No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class received another important dose of stability this week when five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson reaffirmed his commitment to the Aggies.
Henderson, one of six five-star prospects currently pledged to Texas A&M, made it clear that continued interest from Notre Dame hasn’t changed his plans.

“Notre Dame is still recruiting me, to be honest,” Henderson said. “I’ll be real honest, but I’m 100 percent committed to A&M.”
That’s significant for coach Mike Elko, whose 2027 class currently sits atop the national recruiting rankings with 25 commitments and a deep collection of blue-chip talent.
Henderson originally chose Texas A&M after a tight battle with Notre Dame, with relationships inside the Aggies’ program playing a major role.
His connection with Elko, defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill and linebackers coach Travis Williams helped push the Aggies ahead.
For now, Henderson says there’s no upcoming visit to South Bend that could reopen the door.
“I’m not scheduled to go to any Notre Dame games,” Henderson said. “I’m happy to be an Aggie. That’s where I’m at right now.”
Texas A&M has also done plenty on the field to keep momentum rolling.
The Aggies opened the 2026 season with wins over Missouri State and Arizona State, outscoring the two opponents 98-20.
The latest victory, a 48-20 win over Arizona State, featured a 24-point fourth quarter and another strong defensive showing.
Kyle Field has become a major recruiting stage in the process.
Texas A&M hosted roughly 150 prospects for the season opener, including several of its highest-rated 2027 commitments, and Henderson has indicated that he plans to attend every Aggies home game this season.
That kind of visibility matters in an era when commitments can change quickly before the early signing period.
For Texas A&M, the bigger story is that its elite class continues to hold together while the program wins games and gives recruits a firsthand look at what Elko is building.
Henderson’s message only strengthens that momentum.
Until he signs, other programs can keep calling.

For now, though, Henderson sounds finished with the recruiting drama … and fully committed to College Station.
