Kalen DeBoer Makes Decision on Future at Alabama Before College Football Playoff

The Alabama Crimson Tide are heading to the College Football Playoff under head coach Kalen DeBoer
After missing the College Football Playoff last season, DeBoer has led Alabama to the postseason, looking to win his first national title with the Crimson Tide.
While DeBoer has been preparing for the College Football Playoff and even before the season, when Alabama had their eyes set on a matchup against Georgia in the SEC title game, the Crimson Tide coach has been involved in coaching carousel rumors.
DeBoer’s name has been involved in the head coach openings at Michigan and Penn State.
While DeBoer had higher odds than many bargained for in certain betting markets, he recently made it clear that he will be coaching the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2026.
“A lot of the same things I said before, you know, a couple weeks ago, when asked, really the same question,” DeBoer said. “Just, you know, feel completely supported. My family loves living here. Just all the things that we continue to build on — love the progress.”
Kalen DeBoer asked by @_NickKelly and then @Charlie_Potter if he will be the coach at Alabama next year. He laughed and said yes.

Michigan has their eyes set on a major name in the college football after they parted with head coach Sherrone Moore for cause.
While Kalen DeBoer has been listed on various betting sites as a potential candidate for coaching openings, he’s made it pretty clear that he will be the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2026 college football season.
