With Alabama football making the SEC Championship Game against Georgia, Kalen DeBoer secures a pay bump.
The Alabama football coach will receive at least $75,000 for the Crimson Tide’s participation in the conference championship game, according to his contract acquired by The Tuscaloosa News.
If Alabama beats Georgia in the SEC title game, DeBoer will receive $125,000.
Alabama will play in its first SEC championship game of the DeBoer era at 3 p.m. CT Saturday, Dec. 6, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The Crimson Tide has not played in a conference championship since 2023.
Alabama football assistant bonuses for SEC Championship Game
On the contracts for co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Nick Sheridan and Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack, Alabama breaks down bonuses for sport specific support staff, assistant coach without primary play calling duties and assistant coach with primary play calling duties.
Sport specific support staff members such as Alabama general manager Courtney Morgan, per his contract, will receive $7,500 for Alabama’s appearance in the SEC championship.
Assistant coaches without primary play calling duties such as Sheridan, per his contract, will receive $15,000 for Alabama’s appearance in the SEC championship.
Assistant coaches with primary play calling duties such as Wommack and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, per both contracts, will receive $25,000 for Alabama’s appearance in the SEC championship.
Specific bonus information was not provided by the University of Alabama on contracts for tight ends coach Bryan Ellis, running backs coach Robert Gillespie, assistant defensive backs coach Jason Jones, offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic, co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Maurice Linguist, linebackers coach Chuck Morrell, special teams coach Jay Nunez, defensive line coach Freddie Roach, outside linebackers coach Christian Robinson and co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard.
