Kansas redshirt freshman Greydon Grimes, the son of Wisconsin offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes, is set to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to 247Sports' Chris Hummer.
Grimes signed with the Jayhawks as a three-star recruit in the class of 2024, joining his father Jeff, who was the program's offensive coordinator that season. The China Spring, Texas, native flipped from defensive line to offensive line upon joining the program. He appeared in just one game during his redshirt freshman campaign in 2025.
The rising sophomore will enter the portal with three years of eligibility remaining. He can officially enter when the transfer window opens on Jan. 2.
Jeff Grimes joined the Badgers at the start of the 2025 campaign, taking over after head coach Luke Fickell fired former offensive coordinator Phil Longo near the end of the 2024 season. The unit struggled during Grimes' first year at the helm, averaging just 12.8 points per game (No. 135 of 136 Football Bowl Subdivision programs).
Wisconsin's top offseason priority is reloading its offensive two-deep. The program is looking to redirect several years of struggles on that side of the football, entering a 2026 season that will prove critical to Fickell's future.

Greydon Grimes' recruitment will be worth watching when the portal officially opens next month, especially given his connection to Wisconsin and the program's depth need at the position.
