MANHATTAN — Kansas State football announced Stanton Weber as the program’s new special teams coordinator on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Weber spent the last three seasons as the special teams coordinator at Toledo, where he was named a finalist for FootballScoop’s 2024 Special Teams Coordinator of the Year and was named to the American Football Coaches Association’s 35 Under 35 Leadership Institute.

He joins Collin Klein’s new coaching staff at K-State. Klein was named head coach on Dec. 4.

“Stanton is one of the most competitive individuals I have ever met,” Klein said in a release. “He strives for excellence in everything he does. He builds great relationships and has worked himself into being one of the best special teams coordinators in the country.”

The Overland Park native was a wide receiver and special teams standout for the Wildcats from 2011-15, and was a team captain as a senior. A teammate of Klein’s, he helped lead the Wildcats to a Big 12 championship in 2012.

“Natalie and I could not be more thrilled to join Coach Klein, Shalin and their family in Manhattan,” Weber added. “Thank you to Coach Candle and the University of Toledo for three great years. We are so grateful for the opportunity from Coach Klein to return home. I am proud to have grown up in this Family and humbled by the responsibility to serve K-State. It is the honor of a lifetime. Go Cats!”

Weber began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at K-State in 2017-18, before serving as its special teams quality control coach from 2019-20. He took off for South Carolina from 2021-22, where he was a special teams analyst. He’s been the Toledo special teams coordinator since 2023.

Weber had five All-MAC honorees during his time at Toledo, including three-straight kickoff return specialists, a punter and a kicker.

Weber will replace Nate Kaczor, who was the Wildcats’ special teams coordinator and special assistant to the head coach under Chris Klieman. Kaczor made $140,000 this past season at K-State.
