Brayden Harris, a 6’7”, 285-pound offensive tackle prospect out of Jackson High School (Jackson, MO), verbally committed to Kansas State this afternoon. Harris is currently a composite 3* (Rivals, 247, and ESPN), but the Rivals recruiting site considers him a 4*(91) prospect, the 15th best offensive tackle prospect in the 2027 class, and the 4th best overall player in the state of Missouri for 2027.
Harris held over 20 offers and ultimately committed to Kansas State over Arkansas and UCF. His recruitment was led by offensive line coach Mike Schmidt and inside wide receiver coach / Missouri recruiting specialist Josh Burfod.
Highlights
Thoughts
If I had the ability to discern the potential of high school offensive linemen from their high school highlight packages, I would be making significantly more money. I will say that I like what I see from Harris and understand why he decided to pull the trigger on Kansas State. Check out his film. I can’t think of a better school to develop an athletic tackle prospect capable of blocking edge rushers and pulling in the run game.
Most tackle prospects are evaluated on their ability to protect the quarterback, and Harris looks like he has all the tools to hold up on the perimeter, but I’m most excited about his run blocking. He moves well, has excellent timing when he pulls, and appears to play with a bit of a mean streak.
Coach Klien had 6’7”, 300-pound Trey Zuhn III manning the left tackle position for his Texas A&M offense last season. He was drafted in the third round by the Raiders after back-to-back All-SEC seasons (1st and 3rd), and it’s hard not to see some of what made Zuhn one of the best tackles in college football in Harris’s game.
He has the potential to play early in his Kansas State career.
