Kansas State football adds Oklahoma State LB from transfer portal

MANHATTAN — Another Oklahoma State Cowboy is transferring to play for Collin Klein and Kansas State football.

Jacobi Oliphant, a linebacker coming off his redshirt freshman season with the Cowboys, has signed with the Wildcats, the school announced Jan. 5. Oliphant becomes the second Oklahoma State player to commit to the Wildcats, joining running back Rodney Fields Jr.

Oliphant, listed at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, is a St. Louis native who played 269 snaps for the Cowboys in 2025, making a pair of starts against Houston and Texas Tech. He finished the year with 24 total tackles, with two for a loss and a pair of sacks.

Of Oliphant’s 269 snaps, 135 were on defense, while the rest were on special teams. He played 69 snaps in the box, 38 as a slot corner and 27 lined up along the defensive line.

Oliphant posted a photo of himself at Bill Snyder Family Stadium with new Kansas State running backs coach Cory Patterson on X on Jan. 5, saying “With the OG.” Patterson was Oklahoma State’s running backs coach in 2025. Patterson has strong recruiting ties to the St. Louis area.

Out of Saint Louis University High School, Oliphant was listed as a three-star corner, while also being listed as an athlete. He also held offers from Boston College and Group of 5 programs.

Oliphant becomes a high-ceiling player for Kansas State’s roster due to his size and versatility. Klein and the Wildcats’ staff will now try to find a home on the field for the athlete, who should contribute quickly in whatever role they choose.
