MANHATTAN — Kansas State football continued to bolster its offensive line by adding a second lineman out of the SEC.
Auburn tackle Tyler Johnson committed to the Wildcats on Sunday, Jan. 18, according to a report by On3’s Pete Nakos. He joins former Missouri offensive lineman Keiton Jones as an SEC offensive line transfer.
Listed at 6-foot-6, 323 pounds, Johnson’s playing time has been limited across his three seasons with the Tigers. He mainly played on field goal and PAT units as a sophomore in 2025. He has two seasons of eligibility.
Johnson’s most impactful playing time came early in the 2024 season, when he was in a position battle for the team’s starting left tackle spot, a role he held in the first two games.
During the Tigers’ second game against California, he allowed five pressures on six pass-block sets, according to Pro Football Focus. He only took nine offensive snaps for the remainder of the season, as Auburn opted to start Percy Lewis, who played in one game for Ole Miss in 2025.
Out of high school, Johnson was a four-star prospect out of Natchitoches Central (Louisiana). He held offers from Baylor, Texas Tech, Houston, Missouri and others. He also played basketball and competed in powerlifting.
Viewed as a development piece at Auburn, Johnson brings impressive measurables to the Wildcats, who will have a few options at their tackles with the return of John Pastore and George Fitzpatrick. He’s the sixth offensive lineman to commit to the Wildcats, joining Jones, Tanner Morley (Colorado State), Delvin Morris (Akron), Chase Duarte (San Diego State) and Charlie Adams III (Cal Poly).
