Kansas State Football Gets Another Major Endorsement For Next Season

Kansas State football has undergone major changes in the past few months, following coach Chris Klieman's retirement after a rollercoaster 2025 season.

And yet, many anticipate that the program will return better this year. CBS Sports looped the Wildcats with teams like Florida and Penn State as the biggest potential risers in the country.

"Chris Klieman retired following the 2025 season as Kansas State's second-winningest coach behind only Bill Snyder," the article wrote. "Collin Klein, the former Wildcats quarterback who finished third in the 2012 Heisman Trophy voting, takes over after two years as Texas A&M's offensive coordinator. His track record of developing quarterbacks fuels the optimism in Manhattan."

The return of Collin Klein to oversee quarterback Avery Johnson, paired with the relatively simple schedule, is projected to make the program much more predictable.

"Reuniting with Klein could be the fix," the article wrote. "The schedule certainly helps too, avoiding BYU, Texas Tech, and Utah (the three teams given better odds to win the Big 12)."

CBS is far from Kansas State's only supporter. The program has received an overflow of hype for 2026. Not as much as last season, but this is a safer bet. Of course, no one's heavily betting that the Wildcats will win the conference or make the playoffs. But no one thinks they'll be basement dwellers either.
