Kansas State football lands legacy recruit Canaan Smith

MANHATTAN — Kansas State football landed the commitment from a legacy interior offensive lineman from Texas, adding to its 2027 recruiting class.
Canaan Smith, a 6-foot-2, 295-pounder out of Plano, Texas, announced his commitment to the Wildcats on Monday, March 16. He became the third player to commit to Collin Klein’s 2027 class.
Out of Prestonwood Christian, Smith is not ranked on any of the major recruiting websites, but he also held offers from Baylor, Iowa State, Kentucky, UTEP and Air Force before making his decision.

Smith’s father, Jeff Smith, played for K-State and later served in multiple roles with the program.
Smith joins athlete Nazir Pitchford and defensive lineman Dawayne Jones as 2027 commitments.
