MANHATTAN — Kansas State football coach Collin Klein is reportedly losing an assistant coach to an SEC school, just months after adding him to his inaugural staff.
Marcus Woodson, who was hired to be K-State's co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach, is expected to take a role on Ole Miss' defensive staff, according to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.
Woodson spent the last three seasons on staff at Arkansas, after the Mississippi native made stops at Florida State, Auburn and Memphis.
Ole Miss is entering its first full season under Pete Golding, who took over during the College Football Playoff after Lane Kiffin accepted the LSU head coaching gig.
Kansas State can stand to lose a secondary coach, considering Woodson was one of three assigned to coach defensive backs. Defensive coordinator Jordan Peterson specializes in secondary teaching, along with Jeremiah Johnson, who is labeled as a defensive backs coach.
