MANHATTAN — While Kansas State football coach Collin Klein has been busy prepping his Texas A&M offense for a College Football Playoff game, while also starting to build his staff for his new role in Manhattan, he’s somehow found time to earn a commitment from a punter.
Dylan Davidson, an Emporia State transfer, announced his commitment to the Wildcats in a post on X on Thursday, Dec. 18.
Davidson was Emporia’s starting punter in 2025, averaging 43.6 yards per boot, with 14 kicks going 50 or more yards and 18 landing inside the 20.
Out of high school, Davidson was a four-star punter, according to Kohl’s Professional Camps. Out of the Class of 2024, he was touted to be a punter with “huge upside,” while needing some refinement to earn a spot on a Division I roster.
Davidson entered the transfer portal in mid-November and received several FCS offers, including from Southeast Missouri, UT Martin, North Alabama and Tennessee Tech.
K-State is set to lose Teagan Cobb to the transfer portal. Simon McClannan started for the Wildcats last season as a sophomore, averaging 42.5 yards per kick.
