Kenny Darby becomes a household name, plus more college fantasy football bold predictions for Week 7

We're into Week 7 of the college fantasy football season and here are some bold predictions from Yahoo analysts Eric Froton and Nick Bromberg.

Kentucky WR Kenny Darby hasn't been mentioned alongside freshmen standouts like Oregon State WR Jesse Legree and BYU WR Legend Glasker, though his production against SEC competition merits it. New HC Will Stein has the Wildcats offense humming, having scored at least 31 points in their last four games with back-to-back dramatic 35-34 SEC victories during their current four-game win streak.

UK is breeding competitive shootouts, clearing their Vegas over/unders by 10.2 points per game. Darby had multiple twisting, high-degree-of-difficulty receptions that extended drives last weekend to help Kentucky upset LSU. He leads the team in targets, receptions and yardage, but still hasn't had a signature performance to really elevate his national profile. I think this is the week Darby breaks out with 100+ yards and a touchdown in a Kentucky road victory over Oklahoma. — Eric Froton

Missouri QB Austin Simmons was the opening-game starter for Ole Miss a year ago, but an injury opened the door for Trinidad Chambliss to steal the job, and the rest is history. Simmons is set to return to his old stomping grounds after upsetting Florida 45-17 and throttling Texas A&M by three touchdowns. The Tigers' potent offense ranks 12th in FBS with 24% of their completions gaining 20+ yards with an aggressive approach that features 41% of their passes traveling 11+ yards downfield. Conversely, the Rebels' defense ranks 126th in QBR allowed and 117th in explosive pass rate. I think Simmons leads Missouri to a thrilling upset over Ole Miss and sets up Mizzou for a spirited College Football Playoff charge. — Froton

With the Mississippi State QB questionable for Saturday's game with a lingering toe injury, it's best that you explore your other options at quarterback. Even if Taylor does play, can he be effective? Taylor definitely didn't look 100% before leaving the Week 5 loss to Alabama early. And LSU could really key in on stopping him if RB Fluff Bothwell — also listed as questionable — isn't close to full strength, either.

A QB like Cincinnati's JC French IV would be a wise free-agent pickup. The Bearcats are at West Virginia in Week 7 and the Mountaineers' defense has been truly awful. French has rushed for a TD in three of Cincinnati's five games and the Bearcats' Week 5 loss at Arizona was his first game all season without a TD pass. — Nick Bromberg

Did you know that the Fighting Irish's leading rusher is rostered in just 8% of leagues? The freshman had fewer than 11 points over Notre Dame's first four games of the season but has broken through over the last two weeks with nearly 50 total points. Against Rice, Walton had 13 carries for 181 yards and two touchdowns, and has rushed for 409 yards all season on just 52 carries. Aneyas Williams was the presumed top back for Notre Dame heading into the season, but don't be surprised if and when Walton gets the start against BYU (and going forward). — Bromberg
