Kentucky fined 0,000 for field storming vs. LSU, and the Tigers will get it

Kentucky Football enjoyed one of its best nights in program history Saturday night thanks to a 35-34 overtime win over the No. 10 LSU Tigers. That led to an epic field storming by fans, one that the university will have to pay a sizable fine for.

On Sunday, the SEC announced that UK has been fined $500,000 for the field stomping. By league rules, any violation of the access to competition area policy results in a fine of $500,000.

And for SEC games, fines are paid to the opposing institution, so UK will be sending a check to LSU.

The SEC access-to-competition policy does allow schools to adopt a policy letting fans celebrate on the field once all visiting team personnel and game officials have safely exited the field. But that didn’t happen Saturday night, as fans stormed the field almost simultaneously as Kenny Minchey ran in the 2-point conversion for the win. Fans were even seen running up to LSU head coach Lane Kiffin as security escorted him off the field.

The SEC adopted its access-to-competition policy in 2004, and the financial penalty increased to $500,000 in 2025. Kentucky was last fined for field storming back in 2021 following a win over the No. 10 Florida Gators. That resulted in a $250,000 fine.

Totally worth it.
