Mississippi running back Kewan Lacy went down with an apparent shoulder injury late in the first half of the Rebels' College Football Playoff matchup with Tulane on Saturday, Dec. 20.

Lacy, one of the best running backs in the country this season, caught a 7-yard pass from quarterback Trinidad Chambliss with 1:40 left in the second quarter before gingerly getting up. He was holding his shoulder as he exited to the injury tent under his own power.

Lacy finished the regular season with 258 carries for 1,279 yards with 20 touchdowns, leading the SEC in rushing scores. He left the game with 10 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Mississippi leads Tulane 17-3 at halftime in Oxford, Mississippi, with its offense having no troubles despite former head coach Lane Kiffin not coaching the game.

Here's what to know of Lacy's injury status.

Kewan Lacy injury update

Lacy appeared to hurt his shoulder late in the first half of Mississippi's CFP game against Tulane, as he was slow to get up after a 7-yard reception in the second quarter.

Lacy was holding his shoulder as he exited the field, then went to the injury tent on the sideline. He later returned from the injury tent with his helmet on, although he didn't re-enter the game with just a few seconds before halftime.

It's unclear if Lacy is available to return in the second half. Mississippi could be careful with its star running back due to its commanding lead after two quarters.
