The FSU Seminoles have 15 players committed in their 2027 recruiting class, and they are helping to make a few additions this weekend.

On Friday, four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole will make his commitment, and the Seminoles are the favorites. They will be looking to pull off the upset on Saturday when four-star defensive lineman Karlos May announces his commitment, with him also considering the Ohio State Buckeyes, Auburn Tigers, and Georgia Bulldogs.

May spoke with Brendan Sonnone of Noles247 ahead of his commitment, explaining his interest in each of his four finalists. FSU has sold the Birmingham, Alabama native on their ability to develop players and the opportunity for early playing time.

Florida State, man, the development, is definitely something I’m interested in,” he explained. “T-Knight (defensive line coach Terrance Knighton) explained the way they wanted and needed me as a player. I could come in and possibly get a chance to get on the field because they play guys early just to see where they’re at.”

May is ranked as the No. 135 overall player and No. 15 defensive lineman in the 247Sports composite. The 6-foot-3.5, 305-pounder is also the No. 5 player from Alabama.

FSU currently has four defensive linemen or edge rushers committed in their class, but Jam LeJeune is the only one ranked among the top 150 players in the country. Adding May would give them a second top target and would go a long way in addressing their lack of top-end talent.
