The FSU Seminoles have landed several top targets, and they could be closing in on another one. Three-star athlete Marquis Fennell is set to make his commitment on June 25, and Florida State sits in a great spot for him.

He has already taken his official visit to Tallahassee, and they received a crystal ball to land him shortly after. While they are the favorite, they are competeting with the Colorado Buffaloes, Stanford Cardinal, and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for the Valdosta, Georgia native.

Fennell spoke with Chad Simmons of Rivals about all four schools and raved about new running backs coach Kam Martin.

“I love Coach Martin and what he has done with his running backs in the past,” he said. “We have a great connection, and I love his plan for me.”

He is ranked as the No. 905 overall player and No. 127 athlete in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 105 player from Georgia.

Fennell has officially visited all of his finalists except Georgia Tech, which was supposed to happen this weekend, but Simmons believes that is “unlikely” to happen. While FSU already has a running back committed in four-star prospect Jayden Miles, they have prioritized Fennell for quite some time due to his versatility.

Much like Jaylin Lucas and Lawrance Toafili, he can run the ball and line up at wide receiver, creating mismatches that FSU’s offense can exploit. As a junior at Valdosta High School, he ran for 1,480 yards and 23 touchdowns on 181 attempts, and caught 53 passes for 764 yards and 10 more touchdowns.
