Kickoff time, channel announced for Colorado vs. Texas Tech

Colorado football's Week 5 kickoff time against No. 10 Texas Tech is set. Coach Deion Sanders and his program will host the reigning Big 12 champions at Folsom for the university's annual Homecoming game. The matchup will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 5:30 p.m. MT. The game will be televised nationally on Fox.

It will be Colorado's second conference game of the season and will conclude the Buffs' opening stretch of five games before a Week 6 bye. Entering Week 4, Texas Tech is the No. 10 team in the country and is 3-0 following a big-time win against a talented Houston squad. Until the Red Raiders are dethroned, they should be viewed as the team to beat in the Big 12. Before heading to Boulder, Texas Tech will play Sam Houston State at home, a game that should not trouble the Red Raiders much.

The biggest storyline heading into the Week 5 matchup will likely center on how Colorado fares on the road at Baylor in Week 4. Should the Buffaloes bounce back and take down the Bears, they will enter their marquee matchup of the year with nothing to lose and the chance to upset a top-10 team. A loss to Baylor makes a win against Texas Tech close to a must-win to avoid falling to 2-3.
