The SEC announced Monday that No. 9 Texas A&M at No. 7 LSU will kickoff at 6:30 p.m. and air on ABC on Saturday, Sep. 26. The Maroon and White get the week’s top billing and will play under the lights in Tiger Stadium for the second straight season with the top broadcasting crew (Chris Fowler/Kirk Herbstreit/Holly Rowe) on the call. The season’s first road game will be a tough test with a night game in Death Valley on deck.
LSU pulled away from Louisiana Tech 45-14 on Saturday, despite only holding a 10-7 halftime lead. The Lane Kiffin experience faces its biggest test this week as the polarizing coach makes his highly-anticipated return to Oxford, Miss., for a top-10 matchup against No. 8 Ole Miss (6:30 p.m. on ABC). Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is sure to be packed to the gills for the Magnolia Bowl rivalry showdown.
Meanwhile, the Aggies begin their foray into SEC play with a 1:30 p.m. kick against Kentucky (1-1, 0-1 SEC) at Kyle Field. A&M’s third straight home game to open the campaign can be seen on ESPN.
