The Oklahoma Sooners are hoping to take another step forward after a positive season in 2025.
The Sooners rebounded after a 6-7 campaign in 2024 to go 10-3 and make the College Football Playoff last season. But at Oklahoma, it's about winning championships, not just reaching the College Football Playoff.
The transfer portal has given teams a unique ability to plug roster holes and add immediate contributors. The Sooners signed 16 transfers this cycle.
Oklahoma defensive leader Kip Lewis was asked to name some transfers who are making a strong impression early on. Lewis went away from the defensive side of the ball and instead chose two offensive players.
"I go o-line," Lewis said on the 'Sooner Smiths Live' podcast. "Big E (E’Marion Harris), I'm excited to see go out there and tear it up. I like Trell (Harris). Trell's been fun. He's been a little banged up, but he's been fun when he's been out there."
E'Marion is a massive 6-foot-6 and 312-pound tackle who transferred in from the Arkansas Razorbacks. He started 24 games the last two seasons, bringing significant SEC experience. He is expected to start at the right tackle spot as Oklahoma returns four of its five offensive line starters from last season.
As for Trell, Oklahoma was looking for additional playmakers in the passing game. Isaiah Sategna filled that role last season, and Deion Burks showed flashes, but the Sooners needed more consistent production alongside Sategna this season, as Burks is off to the NFL. Harris arrives after having an impressive season for the Virginia Cavaliers, catching 59 passes for 847 yards and five scores.
If both players acclimate quickly to the offense and live up to Lewis' early praise, they could help raise Oklahoma's overall efficiency and explosiveness in 2026.
