Kirby Smart finally has his regular-season win over Alabama

It took until his 11th season as Georgia’s head coach, but Kirby Smart has finally beaten Alabama in the regular season.
Yes, he has beaten Alabama in a National Championship Game and an SEC Championship Game, but he hadn’t beaten the program in the regular season until now. Georgia’s 20-17 win over Alabama on Saturday was his first in that department and Georgia’s first win in Tuscaloosa since 2007.

Georgia is now 6-0 to start the season and will likely be the No. 1 team in the country on Sunday since Texas lost to Oklahoma.
How Georgia got the win
Georgia trailed 14-10 at halftime, prompting defensive adjustments. Those adjustments worked perfectly, and Georgia outscored Alabama 10-3 in the second half to win by a field goal.
Quarterback Gunner Stockton finished with 249 yards through the air, one touchdown, and one interception. He also added a touchdown on the ground.
Yes, Georgia got away with some blatant pass interference late in the fourth quarter, but sometimes you need a little luck to go your way.
Georgia will try to move to 7-0 next Saturday when Auburn travels to Athens. Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET.
