Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart's son received his first college football offer, but it came from a rival school. Georgia Tech has offered quarterback Andrew Smart, according to Rivals.
The younger Smart was at Georgia Tech participating in a seven-on-seven tournament. The whole interaction went viral on social media, with Smart photographed chatting with Brent Key.
Smart is a quarterback from the class of 2030. He is one of three of Kirby's children, with twins Weston and Julia going to college next year. Weston is a tennis player, while Julia participates in track.
Andrew Smart isn't the only son of an SEC head coach to be offered by Georgia Tech. LSU head coach Lane Kiffin's son, Knox Kiffin, was given an offer by the Yellow Jackets earlier in the year too. Kiffin is a prospect from the class of 2028.
Georgia and Georgia Tech get to fuel the rivalry of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate every single year, with Kirby Smart coming out on top eight of the nine times he's coached against them. Brent Key is 0-4 since taking over as Georgia Tech's head coach, but the past three games have all been one-score victories for the Bulldogs. The game will take place at Sanford Stadium this season, maybe with a little juice added.
