ESPN college football analyst and “College GameDay” host Kirk Herbstreit has ranked his top five college football teams. Herbstreit moved one team out of his top five ahead of Week 11.
Herbstreit removed his previous No. 4 team, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, after they suffered a 48-36 defeat to the NC State Wolfpack. Georgia Tech’s defense did not look like one of the top-five team. The Yellow Jackets allowed NC State to gain 583 yards of total offense including 243 rushing yards. The Wolfpack scored at least 10 points in every quarter. Last week, we noted that Georgia Tech hadn’t faced a difficult schedule, so it was not shocking that they lost.
Herbstreit moved Georgia Tech out of his top five and moved up the Alabama Crimson Tide to the No. 4 spot. He finally moved the Georgia Bulldogs into his top five after Georgia’s 24-20 win over the Florida Gators. Herbstreit continues to rank Ohio State (No. 1), Indiana (No. 2) and Texas A&M (No. 3) as his top three teams.
Herbstreit’s top five is the same as that of the AP Poll and US LBM Coaches Poll, so it is not a very controversial rankings. He did make it known that he has no issues with Georgia for leaving them outside of his top five.
“I love Georgia,” Herbstreit said. “Are you kidding me? I freaking love Kirby Smart.”
Kirk Herbstreit’s top five ahead of Week 11
- Ohio State Buckeyes (7-0)
- Indiana Hoosiers (9-0)
- Texas A&M Aggies (8-0)
- Alabama Crimson Tide (7-1)
- Georgia Bulldogs (7-1)
