UCF football added another commitment to its 2027 recruiting class after three-star Lake Wales High School receiver Kaneilius Purdy pledged to the Knights on Sunday.

He committed during the Knights’ first official visit weekend of the summer.

In his first three seasons with the Highlanders, the 6-foot, 190-pound Purdy accounted for 2,493 receiving yards on 130 catches with 31 touchdowns in 35 games while also participating in the return game on special teams.

Purdy has also spent some time in the secondary, totaling 65 tackles, two interceptions and three passes defended.

He committed to the Knights after receiving 34 offers, including from schools such as Florida, Florida State, Miami, Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Kansas State, Michigan and Tennessee.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Purdy is the No. 63-ranked athlete in the 2027 class and the No. 74-ranked player in the state.

He’s the sixth high school prospect to verbally commit to UCF this cycle, joining running back Connail Jackson, edge rusher Noah Robinson, receiver Jamal Robinson Jr., tight end Tanner Ehmen and safety Kash Kolbow.

UCF’s 2027 class currently ranks 54th in the nation according to 247Sports’ composite rankings and ninth overall in the Big 12.

All verbal commitments are non-binding but can become official during the early signing period in December.
