Kyle Whittingham is starting to acclimate to his new digs, and it's made emblematic by his newfound loathing of Ohio State.

Both Michigan football and the Buckeyes faced off against SEC rivals, with the Wolverines taking on Oklahoma and OSU facing Texas. The former came out on top and while it had appeared that the latter would as well, Ohio State blew a 20-point fourth-quarter lead in Austin, making it the first time an AP Top 25 No. 1 team had ever done so in college football history.

Whittingham appeared on Wake Up Barstool with Dave Portnoy on Monday morning and was asked about his reaction to the Buckeyes losing in Week 2. While the Michigan head coach praised Texas, he also noted how much he enjoyed the outcome of the game.

"I did see the fourth quarter; it surprised me," Whittingham said. "And congrats to Sark and his crew. I know Sark very well, and that was amazing. That comeback was amazing, and I didn't see that happening. I thought the game was in the bag after three quarters."

His in-season comment is perhaps in stark contrast to how Whittingham was perceived in the rivalry during the offseason. At Big Ten media days, he drew consternation for saying he doesn't hate Ohio State, and after, he noted that hating the Buckeyes outside of The Game doesn't help Michigan win any more.

Of course, we'll see once the time comes in late November, but regardless, for Michigan fans, it has to be a good thing to see a happy Wolverines coach able to both celebrate a big win over an SEC school while the Buckeyes are lamenting a loss in the same week.
