The Lakers forward got down on one knee during Bruno Mars’ Oct. 2 concert at SoFi Stadium as “Marry You” played.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Ziaire Williams proposed to his longtime girlfriend, model Paris Timan, during Bruno Mars’ October 2 concert in Inglewood, California. The 25-year-old NBA player timed the proposal with Mars’ performance of “Marry You,” turning the concert into a memorable moment for the couple.
During the second night of Mars’ five-show run at SoFi Stadium, Williams got down on one knee on the floor level as Mars sang the lyrics, “I think I wanna marry you.” Williams then asked Timan, “Will you marry me?” According to ESPN, Timan appeared emotional and surprised before saying yes. Mars continued singing, adding the words “Please say I do” as the crowd erupted in celebration.
The couple then embraced as Bruno Mars finished the song. The engagement comes as Ziaire Williams begins another chapter in his NBA career. In July, the former Memphis standout signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ziaire Williams spent the 2025-26 season with the Brooklyn Nets, averaging 10.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 54 games, according to ESPN. Now, alongside a new season with the Lakers, Williams and Timan are preparing for another major chapter in marriage.
For Williams and Timan, the proposal turned an already memorable Bruno Mars performance into a personal milestone. There was also something fitting about the setting. Williams chose Mars’ “Marry You” to ask the question, allowing the lyrics and the moment to line up almost perfectly. With the crowd watching and Mars providing the soundtrack, the couple began a new chapter in front of thousands of fans.
