BATON ROUGE — Lane Kiffin has found his offensive line and quarterbacks coaches.

Eric Wolford is set to take the offensive line position on Kiffin’s staff and has agreed to a two-year, $1.875 million deal with LSU football. Stevens, after serving as a senior analyst under Kiffin at Ole Miss, is getting a promotion in Baton Rouge, filling the quarterbacks coach role on a two-year, $700,000 contract.

Term sheets for both Wolford’ and Stevens were included in the LSU Board of Supervisor’s agenda for its bimonthly meeting Thursday morning when both are expected to be officially approved.

The pair of hirings leave Kiffin with just one assistant coaching position open on his first staff with the Tigers at running backs coach. Kiffin brought many assistant coaches with him to Baton Rouge from Ole Miss, his previous coaching stop, including offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., tight ends coach and co-offensive coordinator Joe Cox and wide receivers coach and pass game coordinator George McDonald.

Wolford comes to LSU after coaching offensive line at Kentucky the past two seasons. Before that, he spent two seasons in the same role at Alabama under coach Nick Saban.

The Youngstown, Ohio native has coached the offensive line for 25 years and has held the position at three different Southeastern Conference schools (Kentucky, Alabama, South Carolina) and has also spent some time as assistant offensive line coach with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL.

Wolford also has head coaching experience. He coached his hometown Youngstown State team from 2010-14 when he went 31-26 across five seasons. His best season came in 2013 when he led the Penguins to an 8-4 record and a tie for second in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Stevens has worked for Kiffin in two separate stints and is credited with helping the development of former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. He’s also worked at West Georgia as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach and as an offensive analyst at USC from 2017-19 when he worked with the Trojans‘ quarterbacks.
