Lane Kiffin Already Responded To Michigan Job Opening Up

The University of Michigan needs a new head football coach. Unsurprisingly, coaching mercenary Lane Kiffin has been linked by some to the job.

Kiffin, who just left Ole Miss for LSU, agreed to a seven year, $91 million contract with the Tigers. He's not going to be leaving Oxford for Baton Rouge. But that's not stopping some from suggesting that Kiffin could make the leap again.

Prominent University of Michigan booster Dave Portnoy, who helped fund Bryce Underwood's commitment to the Wolverines, has already reached out on social media tonight.

Kiffin, unsurprisingly, has made it clear that he won't be leaving LSU.

"How much did LSU pay @Lane_Kiffin Let’s just double it. He’d leave. Reunite him Underwood," Portnoy wrote on social media on Wednesday evening.

Kiffin responded in classic form.

"😂 Instead @stoolpresidente You #ComeToTheBoot Together we can’t be beat! 🐯," he wrote on X.

Why did Michigan fire Moore?

The University of Michigan announced that Moore was fired for an inappropriate relationship with a staffer.

“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately. Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior. Biff Poggi has been appointed head football coach in an interim capacity, effective immediately," the school said.

Moore, meanwhile, was reportedly detained by police in Michigan on Wednesday night, though he wasn't arrested.

Michigan ended up going 9-3 this season, losing to Ohio State in the final game of the regular season.
