LSU football is cranking up the effort to flip a 2027 in-state prospect committed to an SEC rival. Lane Kiffin visited Easton Royal, the No. 1 wide receiver in the class, on Thursday. Royal posted a photo on social media of him and Kiffin at Brother Martin High School.

The New Orleans native revealed his decision on November 29 to play at Texas. It occurred following the dismissal of Brian Kelly by LSU and amid uncertainty about the future in Baton Rouge. Kiffin and company are making a final push to keep the five-star prospect at home.

Rivals' Industry Rankings slots Royal as the No. 7 player in the 2027 cycle. He is the top wide receiver nationally and top player out of Louisiana. Despite making a visit to Baton Rouge in the fall, the Tigers originally missed out on a top recruit in their own backyard.

Kiffin continues to pull out all the stops on the recruiting trail for transfer portal players and high school prospects alike. Getting Royal would give LSU much-needed momentum heading into the next critical stretch of courting 2027 players.
