OXFORD — Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin‘s family has visited Florida and LSU in the last two days as part of those programs’ coaching searches, according to two media reports.

Kiffin is the focus of the LSU coaching search, according to a report on Nov. 17 from The Advocate.

The Advocate report said LSU officials arranged for a private plane to pick up some of Kiffin’s family members on Nov. 17 in Oxford and fly to Baton Rouge.

Kiffin has also drawn interest from Florida. According to a report from On3, Kiffin’s family was in Gainesville, Florida, on Nov. 16.

Kiffin is at the head of the college football rumor mill. The Rebels (10-1, 6-1) beat the Gators on Nov. 15 and Kiffin did not give a direct answer when asked if he anticipates coaching the Rebels in 2026.

LSU (6-4, 3-4 SEC) fired coach Brian Kelly on Oct. 26.

Ole Miss is in strong position to make the College Football Playoff. The Rebels are headed into an open week and will face Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl on Nov. 28 to close out the regular season. If Ole Miss is able to go on a run in the CFP, the timing presents some challenges for teams hiring Kiffin

The Rebels beat the Tigers 24-19 in Oxford on Sept. 27.
