LSU football coach Lane Kiffin found an unexpected source of "guidance" during his tumultuous week with the Tigers.
After winning a court case to roster former NFL players, Kiffin and LSU opted not to make the two on LSU's team eligible for Saturday's home game against Clemson to temporarily avoid the wrath of the SEC and further college football world. However, it's still possible LSU will attempt to play them later in the season.
While appearing on College GameDay on Saturday morning in Baton Rouge, Kiffin said that it was Pat McAfee who gave Kiffin advice on how to navigate the situation, even going as far to find solidarity with McAfee in being "about the two most hated people there are."
If you had McAfee giving Kiffin advice in the college-to-NFL-back-to-college pipeline controversy, then you have us beat on the bingo card. What a strange world we live in these days.
Pat McAfee: "What has it been like, man?… You got sued by the [SEC], what, just two days ago…"
Lane Kiffin: "I've really appreciated our friendship, and this week, your guidance with me… Between you and I, we're about the two most hated people there are." https://t.co/8Y2ovmx6gZpic.twitter.com/a5DXJ3BHmX

We're not sure how Kiffin and McAfee became friends, but polarization can bring people together, we guess?
Where is College GameDay next week?
The crew will head to Austin for Ohio State-Texas.
