The biggest question mark in college football has been the future of Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin.
Kiffin reportedly had to make a decision on his future by Saturday, with the College Football Playoff and bowl season approaching.
Earlier in the week, the Florida Gators reportedly shifted focus away from Kiffin, leaving the Ole Miss Rebels and LSU Tigers jobs as the options for Kiffin.
On Saturday, those rumblings continued all throughout the day.
Kiffin was at the home of the Ole Miss Chancellor on Saturday regarding whether he will coach through the Playoff if he leaves for LSU.
Then, Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports posted that LSU was sending two planes to Oxford on Sunday for Kiffin and his family.
Just after midnight on the East Coast, another report came from Marty Smith of ESPN regarding a Kiffin timeline.
“NEWS: Ole Miss sources tell me Lane Kiffin will hold a 9am team meeting Sunday morning, and have an announcement regarding his future afterwards.”

And yet another past midnight on the East Coast. This time, all signs point to Kiffin leaving Ole Miss and becoming the LSU head coach, according to Pete Nakos, Chris Low and Brett McMurphy of On3.
“Lane Kiffin intends to be the LSU coach next season, multiple sources told myself, Chris Low and Brett McMurphy. However, after meeting with Ole Miss officials for hours on Saturday, what remains uncertain is whether he will be allowed to continue coaching the Rebels in the College Football Playoff,” Nakos wrote.

“LSU is prepared to make Kiffin one of the highest-paid head coaches in the nation, with a deal that would pay at least $13 million per year and approach the $14 million mark,” Nakos added.
On top of that, it seems that Kiffin is beginning to figure out his staff, as Nakos wrote.
“Sources have told On3 that Kiffin has begun approaching offensive and support staff members about following him to Baton Rouge, including general manager Billy Glasscock.”
On Friday, Ole Miss defeated Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl, 38-19. After the game, Kiffin said he had not made a decision yet, per Mark Schlabach of ESPN.
“I haven’t. Maybe that surprises you. But you know, I’ve got to do some praying and figure this thing out,” Kiffin said.
Kiffin has been at Ole Miss for six seasons and has a 55-19 record. Now, it figures to be the end of his time in Oxford.
