If all goes to plan, Ole Miss's Lane Kiffin will be LSU football's next head coach.
Kiffin's services were in high demand this coaching cycle. Not only was Kiffin LSU's top target, but he was No. 1 on Florida's board, too. As LSU and Florida pursued, Ole Miss fought to retain their head coach.
Florida faded from the race and Kiffin's decision came down to leaving for LSU or staying at Ole Miss. A resolution was expected on Saturday, but the saga dragged on as Kiffin met with Ole Miss brass on Saturday afternoon.
Yahoo's Ross Dellenger reported that Kiffin intends to leave for LSU, but desired to keep coaching this Ole Miss team in the postseason.
Late on Saturday, reports emerged of an Ole Miss team meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. CT on Sunday. Now, that meeting has been pushed back to 1 p.m. CT.
Despite the slight delay, this situation should be resolved today.

Per a source, the Ole Miss leadership council is on its way to Lane Kiffin's office in the Manning Center. Players are unhappy with Kiffin, and that's putting it mildly. Ole Miss is deciding the machinations of an interim staff, with either Pete Golding or Joe Judge leading.
