USC Trojans coach Lincoln Riley says he will remain at Southern California, dismissing speculation that has linked him to high-profile openings as the college football coaching carousel heats up.

Riley addressed rumors directly Tuesday night following practice, offering assurance about his future in Los Angeles.

“I’m right where I’m supposed to be,” Riley said, according to Ryan Kartje of the Los Angeles Times. “Nothing other than what we’re building … I love being here. That’s really the end of it.”

The coach has been mentioned in connection with several SEC vacancies, including Florida. But there's nothing putting Riley east of the Mississippi at this point.

Riley’s tenure at USC began with an 11-win season in 2022 behind Heisman-winning quarterback Caleb Williams, but the Trojans have not returned to the College Football Playoff since. USC remains on track for a strong finish if it wins out the regular season and bowl game.

Considering Riley has made clear he intends to lead USC forward as the program continues its rebuild, many can breathe easy. Riley is staying put for now.
