Penn State looks to play spoiler against No. 2 Indiana on Saturday afternoon. For the second week in a row, the Nittany Lions face one of the nation's top two teams in Big Ten play in what was supposed to be a pivotal game for the Nittany Lions en route to a return to the College Football Playoff. With playoff dreams torn to shreds weeks ago, Penn State is simply hoping to find a way back into the win column. For the first time since mid-September. Doing so will not be easy this week against a high-powered and increasingly confident Indiana.

Curt Cignetti's Hoosiers have been steamrolling their way through the season to climb to No. 2 in the national rankings, and in the initial College Football Playoff rankings released this week. With quarterback Fernando Mendoza racking up some big numbers to lead the Indiana offense, there seems to be almost nothing standing in the way of Indiana and a spot in the Big Ten championship game. So Dani Dennis-Sutton, Zakee Wheatley and the Penn State defense will have a big challenge in front of them Saturday afternoon in Beaver Stadium.

The bigger concern will be the Penn State offense. While Kaytron Allen should be expected to continue leading the way on the ground, the Nittany Lions will need to find some opportunities for quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer to establish himself after a couple of tough outings on the road.
