ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Despite holding a 1-0 record (contrary to the belief of some in the media), Michigan football will be looking for redemption after an 'unacceptable' game against Western Michigan in Week 1. And there's no better chance to get it than against Oklahoma.
The Sooners hosted the Wolverines in Week 2 last year, a 24-13 win for OU that was both closer and more unattainable than the final score would indicate. Considering all of the issues facing Bryce Underwood, it's going to be difficult sledding given the tenacity of the Brent Venables defense.
Last year, it was thought (and correct) that the winner of this Big Ten-SEC showdown would determine which of the two would get to play in the College Football Playoff. While it might not be as cut and dry this season, given the difficulty of each team's schedule, the winner will certainly have a better track to get into the 12-team invitational.
It's Bryce Underwood vs. John Mateer. The Wolverine run game against a stout defensive front. The Michigan defense against a difficult-to-defend offense. Intermittent phone signal on the sideline, here are live updates from the field at The Big House.

- Michigan vs. Oklahoma: Last week, Michigan barely beat an overmatched opponent, with the offense particularly struggling. Brent Venables' defense is perhaps the most complicated in football. Expect Michigan to do a better job of taking care of the football, and in some ways, the team will look much improved. But it won't be enough against the Sooners. Oklahoma 21, Michigan 6
- Spread: Oklahoma by 4.5
- Over/under: 43.5
