Longhorns Daily News: Texas DL Hero Kanu named a semifinalist for this season’s Campbell Trophy

The National Football Foundation announced today that Texas defensive lineman Hero Kanu has been named a semifinalist for the latest William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes the top athlete on scholarship who has demonstrated the upmost success between excelling academically, on the field performance, and their leadership.
Texas has seen consecutive finalists for the Campbell Trophy over the past two seasons.
In 2025, Longhorns linebacker Trey Moore was named a finalist for the award.
Before Moore, in 2024, Texas center Jake Majors was named a finalist for the award.
Prior to Moore and Majors, Texas defensive end Sam Acho won the Campbell Trophy in 2010.
In 2007, Texas center Dallas Griffin won the honor.
