Longhorns Daily News: Texas RB Hollywood Smothers named Paul Hornung Award’s Player of the Week after Ohio State win

The Louisville Sports Commission announced earlier this week that Texas senior running back Hollywood Smothers was awarded the Paul Hornung Award’s Player of the Week.
Smothers saw 25 touches overall in the Longhorns’ comeback victory versus Ohio State, which propelled the Texas team to a consensus No. 1 ranking. Smothers carried the ball 21 times for 74 yards and two touchdowns. He also recorded two receptions for 15 yards, plus a kickoff return for 19 yards.
Smothers was also named to the Paul Hornung Award’s preseason watch list.
Smothers leads the Longhorns 144 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 31 attempts on the season.
