In what has been a busy week for Longhorns football recruiting, Steve Sarkisian and his staff received more good news on Thursday. Three-star recruit JT Geraci narrowed his list down to five teams and included the Longhorns. The other programs still in the mix are Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Vanderbilt.
Currently, the Don Presco Prep star is ranked as the 26th-best tight end in the 2027 class by 247Sports. They also rank him as the 17th-best player from New Jersey. During his high school career, Geraci has frustrated defensive coordinators with his speed and playmaking ability, drawing interest from programs nationwide.

With no commitment date set, the Longhorns' next focus will be on getting Geraci to campus for a visit. He would provide an upgrade to the offense and be a weapon for whoever is under the center. The list of quarterbacks that Gerci would play with if he chose Texas includes five-star recruit Dia Bell.
Over the last few years, the Longhorns have been successful in developing tight ends. Their past success stories feature Gunnar Helm, who was drafted by the Tennessee Titans last year, and Ja'Tavion Sanders, who is currently with the Carolina Panthers. If Geraci were to join the Longhorns, he could be on that list at the end of his college career.
Don Bosco Prep's JT Geraci is quickly becoming one of the hottest recruits in the Class of 2027!

While the Longhorns' 2027 class is full of holes, they have been connected to some of the best players still on the board. They have made offers to Cade Wade, Tyson Robinson, Noah Roberts, Easton Royal, Jaden Upshaw, and Kennedy Brown. Landing any of those players would ensure that the Longhorns continue to have a bright future in the SEC.
Although Texas still has a few programs to go to battle with, the last update from Geraci is a good sign
