With the Longhorns’ offseason officially underway, they got good news on the offensive side of the ball on Thursday. Wide receiver Emmett Mosley V announced that he will return to the Forty Acres for the 2026 season. While the Chicago native battled injuries during his first season in Texas, he flashed his potential when healthy

During the 2025 campaign, the Santa Margarita Alum hauled in 28 catches for 408 yards. He also found the end zone three times and averaged 14.6 yards per reception. Although Mosley was learning a new offense, he showed good chemistry with quarterback Arch Manning, who will also be back for the 2026 campaign.

Before arriving in Austin, Mosley spent the first season of his college career with Stanford. He posted similar numbers with the Cardinals, recording 525 receiving yards on 48 catches. He was also a touchdown machine, finding the end zone six times. The Longhorns hope he can replicate those numbers now that he is more comfortable in Steve Sarkisian’s system.

For Texas, the news that Mosley will be back means that they have a veteran wide receiver to rely on. Over the last few weeks, they have lost Parker Livingstone, DeAndre Moore Jr., and Aaron Butler to the portal. While that trio will not be easy to replace, the Longhorns’ 2026 recruiting class includes three-star prospects Chris Stewart and Kohen Brown. The departures could also open up more playing time for Kaliq Lockett, who was one of the top prospects in the 2025 class.

When Mosley returns to campus, he will be one of the few familiar faces on what could be a revamped offense. The Longhorns failed to make the College Football Playoff, which will only fuel their desire to field the best possible team. A healthy Mosley will be important to make that desire become a reality.

After a productive sophomore season, Mosley will look to take his game to another level and show just how good he can be for one of the top teams in the SEC.
